She's Here!

We welcomed our beautiful baby girl Maya Rose on Thursday, May 1st at 3:26pm! She was 7 lbs. 2 oz. and 19 in. long. She entered the world on two holidays - May Day and the National Day of Prayer.
Sara was so incredibly focused and calm during her labor that she even impressed the Labor & Delivery nursing staff! They were so used to women screaming they were shocked she was as far along (and as calm) as she was. I'm so proud of her for "going natural" (yay for HypnoBabies!) and insuring the best possible start for our daughter. Sara's doula Stephanie is very special to her - Sara was Stephanie's babysitter when she was young.
Maya had her first official visit with her pediatrician today and is very healthy. At one week old she has already exceeded her birth weight, which is great news. We are so thankful she is doing well and that Sara is doing great too! We are enjoying spending time together at home and bonding as a family. We look forward to each new day with our little blessing!
