4 Months Old

Maya is 4 months old and growing like crazy! She is a pro at rolling over and laughs tons when being tickled. It is truly a delight to watch her laugh, smile, move, and just be a happy baby :)

She has had lots of fun on Mommy and Grandma Barton outings, including her first trip to a fire station. Sara and Maya went with Grandma Barton to take a tour of the Aurora Regional Fire Museum. The original fire station was built in 1894 and opened as a museum in 1990, after they built a new station next door. Sara's maternal Grandmother was employed as the beloved secretary of the Aurora fire station for many years at both locations. It was exciting to step back in time and view our fire fighting history from its early beginnings. From buckets to horse stalls to the steam engines, the exhibit is a fine example of fire fighting technology over the years. Though she slept through a good part of it, Maya had a wonderful time and we look forward to taking her back in the future!

Maya also went to her first Farmer's Market. She had a great time hanging out in her baby carrier wearing her embroidered white sunhat while we bought fresh peaches, tomatoes, and green beans. Of course, we brought a special treat home for Daddy..a bbq pork sandwich!

Maya had a blast spending time Uncle Chris and Uncle Trent recently. They are BOTH her favorite Uncles...and her only ones ;) She also enjoyed visits from our college / church friend Tim, our old neighbor Kyle, and the "millionaire" Jimmy D! (Look for him on the next season of "The Millionaire Matchmaker" on the Bravo TV channel)

As we say goodbye to Summer and hello to Autumn, we wish you all longs walks in crunchy leaves, the smell of fresh pumpkin pie (and pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks!), and the joy of being with the ones you love.

Check out the gallery for August...
