October was a fun month for us! It started off with a trip to Kuipers' Farm to pick pumpkins and Maya had an exciting time looking at all the new things there. We, of course, had their famous fresh donuts and next year Maya will get to enjoy those too.

The 2nd Annual Glenn Fest was another success! This year an estimated 70 people came! We were so busy having fun we forgot to take pictures, though we do have some video of late night karaoke which is sure to get some laughs. Sara's Dad Warren grilled and yet again all of his food was gone in minutes! His homemade bbq sauce, ribs, and skewered chicken are always a hit. Warren made "Glenn Fest 2008" hooded sweatshirts at his printing job that our family wore. He even made a special presentation giving one to our neighbor Elizabeth (who planned everything) and her Dad (who Warren always has a blast hanging with). Everyone wants to order one for next year! Maya enjoyed spending time outside and had a blast indoors as well where all the ladies were hanging. Tara visited with her daughter Grace, Stephanie and her mother Roberta came, as well as many others. It was great spending time with the ladies!

We had our 4th annual trip to Galena (see the gallery), which was Maya's 1st ever overnight trip. We got to use her nifty travel crib which worked out great! She actually slept better there than at home, which was a pleasant surprise. We got to walk through the hills of Galena and take trips into town. Maya was fascinated with the Atomic Toy Shop that was filled with endless toys from our youth and beyond.

Maya dressed up as a butterfly for her 1st Halloween. We don't get many trick or treaters in our little subdivision (the kids must go to the bigger ones), so we went to Sara's parents for the Halloween festivities. We helped hand out candy, took some pictures, and then went for a walk in the neighborhood. It was great seeing all the effort people put into decorating their homes for the kids.
